Gregory Conti is the editor-at-large of Compact. He is an associate professor of politics at Princeton University and the author of Parliament the Mirror of the Nation: Representation, Deliberation, and Democracy in Victorian Britain. His essays on free speech, political ideologies past and present, and the state of universities have appeared in publications including City Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and American Affairs. He holds a bachelor’s from the University of Chicago and a doctorate from Harvard University.
