It’s time to press pause on the panic about antisemitic and racist influencers taking over young conservatism. We should worry more about how a collapse in trust is fueling nihilistic conspiracy theories.

This week a video emerged of a group of far right celebrities dancing to Kanye West’s song “Heil Hitler” in a Miami nightclub. The group included the part-Mexican Nick Fuentes, biracial Muslims Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, ethnically Haitian-Filipino YouTuber Sneako, and Sudanese Muslim manosphere influencer Myron Gaines. The transgressive, diverse, and superficial vibe nicely captures the essence of today’s far-right new media ecosystem.

Fuentes, the most prominent of the group, traffics in toxic conspiracies about Jews, says “Hitler is cool,” and spouts sexist and racist stereotypes. Tucker Carlson should not be laundering his views.
